HANS ZIMMER & ALAN WALKER RELEASE “TIME (ALAN WALKER REMIX)”

Two generations of musical excellence have connected, as multi-platinum artist, DJ and producer Alan Walker releases his own rendition of the iconic musical piece that is “Time” by his long-time idol composer-star Hans Zimmer.

Ever since the release of his debut single Faded in 2015, 22-year-old Alan Walker has taken the world by storm. Some of Walker’s biggest musical inspirations are from film scores and soundtracks – especially the likes of Hans Zimmer. Growing up on music from Zimmer’s genre-defining scores in films such as “The Dark Knight”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Interstellar” or “Inception”, it is clear that this genre of music has left its mark on Alan’s own musical work. The Norwegian artist has gone on to create an extensive following, with his YouTube channel being the world’s 10th biggest music channel. Now boasting more than 50 billion audio and video streams, Alan Walker is considered one of the major superstars within the electronic music scene.

With the commercial release of his very own interpretation of “Time”, arguably one of Hans Zimmer’s most quintessential creations, Alan Walker will now fulfill a life-long dream of closely collaborating with his musical hero. Having previously been gifted an autographed copy of the sheet notes for “Time”, the two musicians first met in Barcelona in April 2019 during one of Zimmer’s concerts of the “World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration” tour. The meeting led to conversations about a potential collaboration, which will now see the light of day.

Hans Zimmer originally composed “Time” for the soundtrack of Christopher Nolan’s Academy Awards winning box office hit “Inception”, which was released in July 2010. 10 years later, Alan Walker and Hans Zimmer proudly present a version of “Time” in a way the audience surely have not heard before. Based on “Time (Orchestra Version)” from the “The World of Hans Zimmer” album the remix will be accompanied with the first ever music video for a Hans Zimmer recording. Later this year, coinciding with the 10-year anniversary of “Inception” in July, an exclusive vinyl single of “Time” will also be made available.

Zimmer most recently scored the live-action remake of The Lion King, for which he received a Grammy® nomination for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. The film, which was released by Disney on July 19, 2019, grossed over $1.7 billion at the box office.
